This is a hand-made accordion book of the James Weldon Johnson poem, "Lift Every Voice," also known as The Black National Anthem. I used several of my drawings and photos as art. I used the fonts Fette Fraktur for drop caps and Garamond Book Condensed for the body text. This is a 5 book edition..

Linoleum prints at New Beginnings

Troy Staton of New Beginnings Unisex Barbershop/Art Center at 1047 Hollins Street, Baltimore, purchased 2 of my linoleum cut prints, "Sangba" and "Cornel West." The art was exhibited in a group show in the fall of 2010. The West Baltimore salon serves as a gallery and art center that features art exhibits, book signings and community-based programs.

Feeding the soul

This is a dieter's version of a lobster roll dish that was created and photographed by Senora Riddick–a self-effacing foodie who can throw down. The plate consisted of oven fries, lobster on a tortilla with lettuce and a avocado salad.

New Prints

I've just introduced 4 new black and white linoleum cut prints created in early 2011. The subjects below are Toussaint L'Ouverture, Thurgood Marshall, Langston Hughes and Billie Holiday. The limited edition prints are part of an ongoing series of African American icons.

Faces: iphone art

This is a poster I created with images drawn on the iphone, then uploaded to Photoshop and output as a 18" x 24" digital archival print. The art was first displayed at the SOWEBO group show in West Baltimore and will be displayed in May at the Towson Arts Collective in Towson Maryland from June 10-August 12, 2011.
